HEIDENHAIN encoders with the
»11 µAPP interface provide current
signals. These encoders are intended for
connection to ND digital readouts or EXE
signal converters from HEIDENHAIN.
The sinusoidal incremental signals I1 and I2
are phase-shifted by 90° elec. and typically
have a signal level of 11 µAPP. The illustrated
sequence of output signals, with I2 lagging
I1, applies to the direction of motion
indicated in the dimension drawing (or
to plunger retraction in the case of length
gauges).
The reference mark signal I0 has a usable
component G of approx. 5.5 µA.
The signal amplitude is valid when the
supply voltage stated in the specifications
is applied at the encoder. It is based on a
differential measurement between the
associated outputs. The signal amplitude
decreases when the frequency increases.
The cutoff frequency is the frequency up
to which a certain percentage of the
original signal amplitude is maintained:
• –3 dB cutoff frequency:
70% of the signal amplitude
• –6 dB cutoff frequency:
50% of the signal amplitude
Interpolation/resolution/measuring step
The output signals of the 11 µAPP interface
are usually interpolated in the downstream
electronics (ND digital readouts or EXE
signal converters from HEIDENHAIN) in
order to attain sufficiently high resolutions

We offer testing and diagnostics for HTL and TTL quadrature encoders. Send us the encoder make, model and a photograph of its nameplate so we can confirm the applicable checks.

We offer testing and diagnostics for Newer and also the Obsolete and Out of Production range of HTL and TTL quadrature encoders made by Heidenhian Germany, Send us the Encoder model and a photograph of its nameplate & connector so we can confirm the applicable checks.We have invested in Original Heidenhain Encoder Checking equipment and can validate Encoder signals using Heidenhain made equipment , We can also check encoder condition and Health while the encoder is fitted/ working at machine in Shop floor condition this service is very valuable for Machine troubleshooting

What is included in an encoder health check?
Available checks include output signal amplitude, phase angle, duty cycle, oscilloscope waveforms, supply voltage, short circuits and the reference or index pulse. The checks performed depend on the encoder model and the diagnostic services selected.
Can you test my encoder at our site?
Yes. We offer encoder diagnostics at your site or at our workshop in Ajman. Send us details of the equipment, location and fault so we can confirm the scope and arrange the service.

How do I ship a faulty encoder to you?
Send us a service request with the encoder make, model, fault description and your contact details. We will send you a Material Shipping Note with the delivery instructions. Include a copy of the note with your shipment so we can identify your encoder on arrival.

Please include the encoder make and model, clear nameplate and connector photographs, a description of the fault, and the machine or motor on which it is installed. Let us know whether you require workshop testing or an on-site visit.
